Analyzing the scene before me, I realized the artist's intention of a dimly lit cavern to contrast the various shades of red and blue. Their apparel significantly differs in comparison to their pale skin. While the man's cerulean tunic is slipping away from his build, it's noted he is holding a battle spear, preferably departing for his far more important duties and indicating this moment was ages ago. Eucharis rests her head in reluctant agreement on Telemachus' bare shoulder and wraps her arms around his neck to confirm her goodbye. As he lays his palm on her mid-thigh, signaling the time to leave, his goat is more so willing to go when it is unable to lift it's gaze from anticipation towards the Greek figure before him. The setting could confirm that this location functions as a hideout where the two lovers can say their farewells away from any commotion possibly happening outside.
